Venue Profile: The Belfry, Sutton Coldfield

Whilst in the West Midlands, the SOS team visited The Belfry. Read the venue profile below:


Set within 500 acres of grounds, The Belfry, most famous for its golf courses, is the perfect location for meetings, conferences and events.


The Belfry benefits from a great location in Sutton Coldfield with excellent motorway links and is well sign posted. It is just 10 minutes away from Birmingham International Airport and 20 minutes from Birmingham City Centre. Sutton Coldfield train station is also within a 15 minute drive. There is plenty of free parking on-site.

First Impressions

A very fresh, bright and modern resort style hotel. There is a large entrance and drive way leading up to the hotel and you can see some of the golf course as you drive through. As you walk in to the hotel you enter a large lobby and beautiful bar area.

Event Space and Facilities

The venue has undergone significant refurbishment within the last 2 years.

Whether you’re looking for a private dinner for 20 people, a product launch for 100, or an extravagant awards dinner for 250 people, there are 22 meeting and conference rooms in total. The Woodland Suite is the largest space available, catering for up to 400 delegates and there are also plenty of spaces suitable for smaller board meetings and informal gatherings.

Some event spaces look out on to the golf course or surrounding countryside and the meeting rooms feature natural daylight, air conditioning and the latest AV technology.






There are over 300 bedrooms which are all modern and light, with some having beautiful views of the golf courses. The bedrooms can be quite a walk from reception as they are all spread out.

The Brabazon Bar is a round circular bar located in the large open plan lobby area, it had a great atmosphere and is large enough to host groups.








Alongside its world famous golf courses, there is a spa and treatment area, a pool,  gym, two restaurants and one bar. There’s even a night club, the Bel Air Nightclub, which is a separate venue within the grounds.








With 500 acres of grounds, The Belfry can also cater for a variety of outdoor events and team building activities including treasure hunts, sports days and ‘its a knockout’ type events.

Food and Service

We had breakfast, lunch and dinner in the hotel. Breakfast was very good and a good selection on offer.The breaks during the conference were very nice, homemade cakes and cookies etc. We enjoyed lunch in a private area of the restaurant and there was a good choice. For dinner we enjoyed a set menu however there is also a pizza and pasta restaurant along with an American style sports bar where food is served, so there is plenty of choice!
